FlyBird Adjustable Weight Bench Review

Overview

The first time I saw a picture of the FlyBird, I thought that it was simple, too simple even for my preferences. At first, I thought, “what can I possibly do with this thing?” It turns out that this simple adjustable weight bench can help do a number of upper and lower body exercises.

The FlyBird stands on a triangular steel frame that has been coated in black. It is so durable that it has a carrying capacity of 620 lbs (approx. 281kg).

What’s great about the FlyBird, though, is even if it’s made of steel, it is lightweight and easy to carry around. You can even fold it into one carry-on piece that you can bring with one hand. I’m sure even teenagers can carry it.

Another notable thing about the FlyBird is the many adjustments it can actually make. For an adjustable weighted bench, you would be surprised that what the FlyBird can do is more than the average.

Usually, it’s just 6 different angles, but with this product, you can do 7! For its price, this is already worth every buck.

Take a Closer Look on the FlyBird Adjustable Weight Bench

While I’ve already mentioned most of the features of the FlyBird, there’s still a lot of things to talk about those main features that will make your weight training a lot easier.

Frame

The FlyBird is purely made from high-quality steel that has been coated in black. Only one color is available for this product, but it doesn’t matter as the black coating and padding make it look sleek. Sometimes, it gives the illusion that it is smaller than it actually is.

The total weight of the whole frame is 15.2 kg. This can be a struggle for me to carry at first, but if you’re a 5’8” and above, it should be a lot easier.

Padding

The whole length of the bench is covered with a 2-inch soft foam. Both the seat and the backrest have the soft foam on it and is wrapped with leather to make it more comfortable. The leg station is also covered in soft foam, but it isn’t covered with leather.

Back and Seat Adjustments

To be more specific, the 7 back adjustments are 95, 129, 143, 157, 180, 190, and 215 degrees. You can adjust the backrest using an automatic lock. Unfortunately, you cannot do different angles apart from those because of the automatic lock. However, these 7 angles are already sufficient to perform different kinds of workouts that target different muscle groups.

Storage

The FlyBird stays true to its guarantee that it’s lightweight and easy to store. In fact, when you fold it for storage, you will only use up 30.3 in x 9 in space. You can easily place it on the side of a chair or at the corner of the room. Because it can easily be assembled and folded, you can place it anywhere in your house as long as it is on a flat surface.

Factors To Consider Before Buying the FlyBird

I’m a beginner, so I was pretty sold with the FlyBird Adjustable Bench on the first time I saw it. However, I’m still cautious when buying home gym equipment because I want to make sure that I don’t waste money buying a product I don’t really need. Here are a few things that can help decide if this product is right for you.

1. Your Fitness Goal

Before buying this weight bench, your fitness goal should include working your upper and lower body muscles. Your fitness program should at least have a weight training part or else buying this product won’t be right.

There are many benefits to weight training and muscle strength is just one of them. Nonetheless, you should know that the FlyBird is not something you should buy if you want to focus on cardio.

2. Type of Workouts You Do

If you only do dumbbell and core workouts, the FlyBird can be more than enough to satisfy your workouts. But if you want to do barbells, I suggest that you buy equipment that already has a barbell station and a dumbbell station in one. With that, you just have a 2-in-1 home gym equipment.

3. Other Features

Unfortunately, there are no features for the FlyBird other than what I mentioned. No, there isn’t any phone holder, or Bluetooth speaker. It’s a plain adjustable weight bench that can let you do your dumbbell training in peace. If you want a more sophisticated and “digitalised” version of a weight bench, the FlyBird is not the product for you.
