With people finding ways to stay fit indoors, it’s no surprise that stationary bikes are in-demand today. You’re already familiar with spinning bikes, but what about air bikes? Is that even a thing? Apparently, it is, but it’s not as popular as other types of stationary bikes.

When I got the Lifespan Fitness Exer-90H Air Bike, I was hesitant. I didn’t know how different it would be from my regular spin bike. If you’re like me and you’re wondering if these kinds of bikes are just hyped, then here is what I have to say about my experience with an air bike.

Lifespan Fitness Exer-90H Air Bike Overview

The Exer-90H Air Bike is designed to challenge you when you’re finding your exercise too boring. Since stationary bikes always build on momentum (which is kind of a cheat since you get used to the light resistance), this air bike takes it a step further. How? It matches your strength with the right resistance.

The Exer-90H Air Bike’s 25-inch diameter steel fan is responsible for the resistance you get. Because of the large steel fan, there’s more resistance that can be made. In turn, you don’t get complacent as you pedal your way through the whole workout session.

Another unique feature of the Exer-90H Air Bike is the dual-action capabilities. This air bike gives you the choice to work out your arms only or just your legs. So if you don’t want to have a full-body cardio workout, you can always adjust the bike to focus on one part of your body.

One of the main concerns of people who use bikes is the saddle. You don’t have to worry about that with the Exer-90H Air Bike. To make your ride more comfortable, the seat uses thick cushioning with an adjustable angle. This way, you can adjust the seat to fit your preferences.

This air bike wouldn’t be complete without its foundations. In fact, the factors that make an air bike good are not solely on the mechanism. Rather, the frame has to be durable and sturdy, too. It’s a good thing that the Exer-90H Air Bike uses a commercial-based tubular steel frame. It doesn’t wobble even when you increase your speed. Take note, though, that the max weight is 160kg.

Features of the Lifespan Fitness Exer-90H Air Bike

Unique Air Resistance Mechanism

The Exer-90H Air Bike’s most notable feature is its 25-inch diameter fan. Unlike regular stationary bikes, this bike uses air to create the resistance you feel on the pedals. To create that resistance, Lifespan Fitness utilises a bigger wheel.

This big wheel also has its benefits. One, it gives a wider range of resistance levels. Two, it produces air that can help you feel cooler (at least on the legs). Lastly, this large wheel gives a dynamic resistance. Meaning, the harder you pedal, the greater the resistance you get.

Dynamic Pedal Angles

Lifespan Fitness found that there is a certain angle that is more ergonomic for your feet. Hence, it made a dynamic rotating crank which allows for better pedaling. In return, you are more comfortable pushing down the pedals without fear of hurting other parts of your leg.

The dynamic rotating crank isn’t only to improve ergonomics. Rather, it’s meant to help you give more strength to the bike. With the right angles, you can push the pedals farther which, in turn, burns more calories when matched by the right resistance.

Dual-Action Bike System

The Exer-90H Air Bike shows that it’s more than just a full-body exercise bike. With its dual-action bike system, you can also use it for your arm and leg exercises. Since the arm and leg pedals are not interconnected, you can use them separately depending on your preference.

Comfortable and Adjustable Seat

A lot of thought has been put on the Exer-90H Air Bike that even the seat is impressive. The Exer-90H Air Bike’s saddle was designed to have minimal interference with your thighs making it a lot more comfortable for you to pedal vigorously.

To add to that, the seat itself is adjustable forward or backward and higher or lower. To adjust the saddle, all you have to do is pull the knob found on the stainless-steel frame.

Durable Steel Frame

The Exer-90H Air Bike uses a tubular steel frame that gives more durability to the whole air bike. Instead of having one panel of metal, you get two enclosed in a cylindrical shape. This way, there are two layers of metal that hold the whole frame in place.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • Wider resistance range
  • 4 ways to adjust the saddle
  • Easy push and pull knobs to adjust the saddle
  • Dual-action capabilities that let you work on either your arms or your legs
  • Professional-looking design
  • Sleek and minimalist, no extra knobs and screws on the way
  • Easy-to-read LCD display where information is organised and not cramped
  • Includes transport wheels and floor levelers for easy transferring
Cons
  • Very heavy and not easily portable even when it has wheels
  • The steel fan is too big so it’s not ideal for small spaces

Final Words on the Lifespan Fitness Exer-90H Air Bike

The Exer-90H Air Bike is a great air bike if you want to really challenge yourself. The air resistance the fan makes is such a smart way to maximise simple systems. I myself was impressed by how efficient and unique this mechanism is. If you’re the type of person who wants to push yourself to the limit, then this is the stationary bike you should get.

Personally, I found this even more challenging than my other stationary bike. It took me a while to see the difference, but as you keep pushing on the pedals, you’ll notice that it gets harder every time.

Overall, the make is durable and the parts are high-quality. Everything fits where it should be and it performs just as well as Lifespan Fitness describes it. It’s a 10/10 for me and I’ll gladly recommend this to my friends.
