ProFlex SPN750 II Spin Bike Review – Good Value

When it comes to exercising or working out, not all people have the time to visit a gym. The good news is, you don’t need to go to a gym to work out. A spin bike can help you attain a full-body workout without leaving your house.

Spin bikes can effectively strengthen the abs, hips, shoulders, and thighs. This exercise equipment is usually found in training centres and gyms, but that doesn’t mean you can’t get one for your home.

The ProFlex SPN750 II exercise bike is a commercial spin bike that is not as expensive as those you can find at gyms but offers the same result. I have the opportunity to try this equipment to find out if it is as great as they claim to be. Here’s what I learned about it.

ProFlex SPN750 II Spin Bike Overview

The ProFlex SPN750 II Spin Bike is a state-of-the-art exercise equipment that allows you to achieve a commercial-grade exercise bike in the comforts of your home. While most spin bikes available for home gyms usually come with a low-quality flywheel, the company made sure that they use heavy-duty stainless-steel flywheels.

With this feature, users can experience a realistic and smoother riding sensation. The 13-kilogramme flywheel mechanism offers just the right amount of resistance. You’ll still be able to feel the burning sensation in your leg muscles.

It is ergonomically designed to provide comfort while working out to let you achieve your fitness goals even with prolonged use. The adjustable seat, rear suspension, handlebar, and seat post allow you to find the perfect position as you work out.

The LCD console is conveniently placed in front for easy viewing and setting. It has 5 monitor functions so you can set and perform targeted goals in terms of speed, calories, duration, pulse rate, and distance. All you have to do is select your preferred health target from the console.

With its price, the ProFlex SPN750 II Spin Bike is surprisingly sturdy with its powder-coated stainless steel frame. Even with frequent and intense use, it looks like it can last for more than 5 years. Just be sure to not exceed its maximum capacity of 120kg.

Other features worth taking note of are the pulse sensor, mobile phone holder, and variable grip handlebar. The extra thick padded seats are also worth considering since prolonged seating on some spin bikes can leave you with a sore backside.

You don’t have to worry about moving it around the house with its transport wheels that can be found on the front stabiliser bar. Since it is not too big, it won’t take up much space in your home.

Features Of The ProFlex SPN750 II Spin Bike

Heavy Duty Stainless Steel Frame and Commercial Grade Flywheel

When it comes to fitness equipment, one of the first things I check out is its durability. Since I love challenging myself, I need exercise equipment that can handle my intense exercises.

While the ProFlex SPN750 II exercise bike may not look as sturdy as those found in fitness centres or gyms, it is sturdy and durable enough for intense home workouts. For its price, its quality has exceeded my expectations.

Its heavy-duty stainless steel frame is powder-coated for added protection and aesthetic features. The ProFlex SPN750 II comes with a commercial-grade 13-kilogramme flywheel which I find more suitable for beginners.

I am used to training with heavier flywheels from other spin bikes, so I feel that I can do more than the 13 kg limit. However, I can still feel some effort on exertions and some burning sensations on my legs. But 13 kilos for newbies can already be overwhelming to overcome.

Another thing I like about flywheel-driven spin bikes is that they can be ultra-quiet; perfect for those who love working out late at night or in the wee hours of the morning when everyone is still sound asleep.

Five Monitor Functions

The simplicity of the design on its LCD console makes it easy to understand how your training is going on. The five monitor functions let you set your desired goal in relation to speed, duration, calories, distance, and pulse rate. You can easily set your health target by selecting the options on the LCD console.

While it’s great that it is made simple and allows me to set and select my fitness goals, I kind of wish the monitor was bigger. That way I can monitor and see everything at once and see my progress on the monitor, rather than seeing them one-by-one.

Below the LCD console, there’s a mobile phone holder that allows you to listen to music, watch videos, make a call, and go online as you set out on your fitness journey.

Realistic Riding Sensation

Apart from the flywheel that imitates the effects of riding on a real bike outdoors, the overall design makes you feel like you are riding on a real bike outside. The belt drive systems replicate the characteristics of an on-road bike.

The variable grip handlebars are padded and adjustable and have a built-in pulse sensor to monitor pulse rate. The seat post and seat are also adjustable with a minimum height of 101 cm and a maximum height of 116 cm.

Its extra-thick padded seat allows you to sit comfortably for a longer period of time. Compared to other spin bike seats, I find the seat on this ProFlex SPN750 II more comfortable and has just the right size. The seats are also softer.

The pedals come with toe straps to secure the feet while biking. It also has grips to ensure your feet will not slip no matter how intense your workout is. Pedalling on this ProFlex SPN750 II Exercise Bike gives a fluid pedal motion and unique feel. It somehow made me feel like a professional cyclist or racer while working out on this spin bike.

Portable

What I like about this exercise bike is its relatively small size. It does not need a big space inside the house. It is easy to find a place in any corner of the house compared to other exercise bikes that are too big and bulky.

Moving it around is effortless even with its 33 kg weight because of its transport wheels. No need to wait for someone to help you push the equipment; the transport wheels will make that easy for you.

Pros and Cons

  • 13-kg commercial-grade flywheel for a more intense workout and resistance that will leave your leg muscles with a burning feeling
  • A super quiet drive mechanism allows you to focus on your pedalling without being annoyed with the rattling sound that other spin bikes make. This way you can concentrate on getting fit and reaching your fitness goals
  • Easy-to-read and understand LCD monitor
  • Five monitor functions allow you to set and adjust your fitness goals
  • Has a built-in mobile phone holder so you can still make calls, read e-mails, and watch while working out. You can multitask and maximise your time better
  • Ergonomic design to make exercising more fun and comfortable
  • Heavy-duty stainless steel frame for durability, stability, and can hold up to 120 kg of weight
  • Portable with its built-in transport wheels
  • Adjustable rear suspension, variable grip handlebar, and ultra-soft padded seat to find the best position while you work out
  • Affordable, worth more than what you pay for
Cons
  • The 13-kg flywheel may not be enough for fitness enthusiasts. Some may feel like their capacity is being limited
  • While the monitor is easy to read and understand, the screen is a bit small. Does not allow you to see all five functions at the same time
  • Not as sturdy or smooth as commercial-grade spin bikes, but is good enough for intense home work out
  • The pedal and seat adjustments can also be improved
  • Would be better if there’s a built-in water bottle holder, so you don’t have to get out of the bike to quench your thirst

Final Words on ProFlex SPN750 II Spin Bike

The ProFlex SPN750 II Spin Bike may not be perfect and there are still a lot of things to improve such as the monitor, maximum flywheel weight capacity, and seat and pedal adjustment, but it has more great features than other spin bikes in the market.

Newbies can start with this spin bike before moving on to a more intense exercise bike.

With its price and functionality, this is way better than other expensive ones. But if you’ll ask me, I’ll leave this to the newbies and get myself a spin bike with a heavier flywheel where I can fully maximise my capacity.

If you are looking for a spin bike with basic features to start your fitness journey, then this can be a good option for you. However, if you are like me who wants more challenges, then there are better options out there.

But when it comes to the best value for your money and with its features and functions, then you can never go wrong with the ProFlex.
