Sounds promising? Keep reading and learn why this exercise machine is your next best purchase for your home gym.

Overview of the Proform Pro 2000 Treadmill

Proform is the first thing that comes to mind when looking for impressive mid-range treadmills.

That’s because the company centres its attention and investment on research and development.

More importantly, Proform products were born out of ideas from consumers and professional trainers. So, you know you’re getting the best!

And this commitment to innovation shows in the Proform Pro 2000 Treadmill. Compared with its previous 2019 model, this new version is more compact with a better touchscreen.

There’s a slight reduction in motor power, but the high-quality construction, user-friendly operation and variable workout options make up for it.

After trying this treadmill, I cannot help but be impressed by how its creators seamlessly integrated modern features into a traditional machine.

The best part? You get to experience all this at a more affordable price.

With its balanced cost and performance, it’s no wonder Proform Pro 2000 is a customer favourite.

Best Features of the Proform Pro 2000 Treadmill

Here are the features that make the Proform Pro 2000 Treadmill a standout.

Space-Saver Design

Proform understands that most home gyms do not have the luxury of space for a bulky exercise machine. So, they added the EasyLift™ Assist technology to the Proform Pro 2000 to make it a foldable treadmill.

To use it, grab the bar at the base, lift the deck, and then push to lock it into place. It should not be difficult as the machine is more compact (196 x 90 x 151 cm) than its predecessor.

The two transport wheels also make it effortless to push or pull the treadmill while folded. And when it’s time to use the machine, press the foot release, then let the hydraulic system do its work.

Comfortable Deck

Checking the running deck size and cushioning should be among your top considerations when choosing a treadmill.

For instance, the patented ReBound Pro™ of the Proform Pro 2000 ensures minimal impact on your lower body during workouts, from hips to feet.

With a softer landing surface, you can do your 30-minute treadmill runs with a shorter recovery time.

The spacious 152 x 51-cm deck has a 136-kg user weight capacity and gives your legs plenty of room to walk, jog or run comfortably. The treadmill belt also went through a million cycles with double the user weight for quality testing.

Lastly, the deck works with balanced non-flex rollers for better grip, reduced noise, and low wear and tear.

Powerful Motor and Multiple Speed Levels

The Proform Pro 2000 comes with 3.25 CHP (continuous-duty horsepower), which has slightly less power than the 3.5 CHP motor of the previous model.

Still, it has the same high-quality components that Proform Pro treadmill users would hardly tell the difference. And despite the big motor size, its in-home efficiency booster should help control power consumption.

With this CHP rating, you get a wide range of speed levels from 0 to 22 km per hour. Also, this motor power guarantees smooth and quiet treadmill sessions.

It’s easy to shift speed levels, too, thanks to the QuickSpeed® Button Control you’ll find right below the HD touchscreen.

Adjustable Incline/Decline

Getting an adjustable incline/decline feature in a mid-range treadmill is not very common. And Proform Pro 2000’s 12% incline and -3% decline options make it all the more exceptional.

This feature should level up the usual flat-road training. It is also effective in boosting weight loss progress or toning leg muscles.

You get more workout variety when you pair it with the machine’s adjustable speeds. The QuickSpeed® Button Control also makes it easy to modify incline or decline settings without disrupting your workout.

Crisp HD Touchscreen

If you prefer working out with clear, engaging tutorials or exercise videos, then you will love the 10-inch HD touchscreen of the Proform Pro 2000 Treadmill.

It is bigger than the 7-inch screen of the original model. Plus, the high-definition feature is perfect for enhancing treadmill sessions, whether it’s outdoors or in-studio.

Also, a quick swipe is all you need to view available workouts or check your stats.

Diverse iFit Workout Programs

An HD touchscreen is not complete without a wide range of workout programs. Proform made this ultimate pairing possible by making Proform Pro 2000 compatible with the iFit app.

Upon purchase, you get a 30-day free family membership, giving you access to hundreds of on-demand workouts led by certified personal trainers.

This app also allows you to run anywhere on Google Maps and experience all sorts of terrains.

Global workouts can automatically change your incline/decline or speed setting, too, so you don’t have to worry about it.

Useful Accessories

An excellent treadmill like the Proform Pro 2000 naturally has little extras to make your daily workouts efficient and comfortable.

For instance, its built-in CoolAire™ workout fan has three power settings and one auto mode to make it easier to control your indoor temperature.

It also has Bluetooth connectivity syncing gadgets, heart rate monitoring devices or wireless headphones to the machine. Also, the dual 2-inch speakers should go well with your favourite workout playlist.

It is excellent for small spaces.

I had the Proform Pro 2000 set up in my apartment. And I find it considerably more compact (less overwhelming) than other treadmills I’ve tried before. Its minimalist design also blends well in my living room.

When it is flat, the step-up height is about 24 cm from the floor to the deck. So, getting on and off the machine should not be a problem for petite users like me.

The machine weighs around 117kg — a bit hefty but not commercially heavy. It’s not too taxing to get it upstairs or move it someplace else in the house.

On a full incline, the machine is not too high, either. So, you could do your uphill training without worrying about ceiling height.

I especially like the folding system of this treadmill. It’s easy to use, and you can fold it upright with one hand.

Once folded, the total footprint is cut in half, making it suitable for apartment or condo dwellers with limited floor space. It makes cleaning underneath the machine very easy, too.

Operation is straightforward.

If you’re a treadmill beginner, you’ll like the control panel of the Proform Pro 2000. It’s simple and user-friendly. It only has a few buttons, so it’s not difficult to figure out.

The quick buttons for speed and incline are handy, too, when you want to save time and concentrate on your workout or interval training.

The 10-inch touchscreen is a pretty good size. However, it’s not as big as other treadmills like the NordicTrack X22i Incline Trainer.

Its buttons are also small, which you might want to check in case you have vision problems. I had no issues using it, though.

You can even adjust its tilt settings and choose between light and dark modes (I chose the dark one) to enhance the display.

I also used the touchscreen for signing and setting up the iFit and encountered no problems at all. The graphics and sound are clear, too.

It offers a wide array of immersive workouts.

The bestselling point of the Proform Pro 2000 would have to be its extensive workout library.

I think installing the iFit app is not necessary since the machine comes with several built-in workouts. Plus, you can also use the treadmill in manual mode.

However, the 30-day free iFit access that comes with it is a must-try for sure. Aside from thousands of treadmill workouts, the app also offers boot camp, yoga and strength training classes.

The global routes are my favourite. With these trainer-led workouts, you can do outdoor treadmill runs with a view from scenic streets to desserts!

It is also the program where you can experience the auto speed/incline/decline adjustment. This one felt like watching movies with kinetic theatre chairs, but you’ll be burning calories on the side.

Designing a customised route through Google Maps is also a fun option. However, once the free access expires, you need to sign up and pay for a subscription.

You can skip it, but some workout features I described will no longer be available. So, make the most of your free access and test as many workouts as possible to see if an iFit membership is worth getting.

Also, note that you still need a WiFi connection to get regular updates on free classes and content.

It suits general treadmill use.

After assembly, I was excited to test the Proform Pro 2000 and check its deck. Honestly, I was slightly concerned that it may be too short or narrow, especially while running at higher speeds.

But to my surprise, I didn’t feel constrained at all. The 152 x 51-cm deck was enough for me to walk, jog and run comfortably. The textured belt also feels great under the feet. The large rollers also kept things running smoothly.

I’m about 163 cm tall, by the way. If you are taller, it’s best to try the machine yourself to make sure it can support your stride.

Next, I tried the incline/decline options of the machine. Most mid-range treadmills would have a 10% incline. So, getting an extra 2% is a big plus for average users who are into hill training.

Plus, the decline mode is not something you often see in machines within this price range. It’s an excellent bonus, for sure.

But I did notice that the machine can be a bit noisy as you shift incline/decline levels. It’s not disruptive, though. And it returns to a subtle motor sound once it gets to your desired level.

Another thing to note is that the cushioning system can make the machine bounce a little, particularly at higher speeds. I’m about 56 kg and thought taller or heavier users might feel this bouncing motion more.

It might be better if the machine comes with an adjustable cushioning system, like those in some NordicTrack treadmills.

However, I don’t see it as a problem if you plan to use the treadmill for beginner and intermediate exercises.

It is more affordable yet packed with features.

This one, perhaps, is the best thing I noticed about the Proform Pro 2000.

Yes, it is smaller than most mid-range treadmills. Its motor may not be as powerful to support intense workouts, and the deck cushioning could have been better.

But then again, a 3.25 CHP motor is enough for many average users. Also, a compact machine suits most home gym spaces.

And despite its reduced size, Proform managed to squeeze in modern features like Bluetooth connectivity, built-in speakers, an HD screen, and two side pockets for workout essentials.

Then, you get several options to level up your treadmill runs, whether by boosting the speed, adjusting the incline or trying out a new program.

This machine undoubtedly has premium features that you can experience for less.

Shipping, Delivery and Installation

I have read a few online reviews about Proform treadmills and noticed some reports about delivery and customer service problems.

In my case, I didn’t encounter any issues, and everything was smooth sailing from ordering to assembly.

On the day of delivery, I also got a call informing me that the fitness machines and assembly personnel were on the way.

I even had three pieces of Proform equipment delivered on the same day.

Perhaps, it’s best to buy direct from the manufacturer or a reputable retailer to avoid problems. Reading good delivery records or customer service history also helps.

About the Delivery and Installation

Winning Services is Proform Australia’s partner for delivery and installation. The company sent two gentlemen to deliver and set up the exercise machines in my apartment.

Both were polite and efficient. And it took less than an hour to assemble the treadmill.

They were the same service company that helped me with the NordicTrack machines I tested before. Installing the Proform Pro 2000 Treadmill was much faster this time, though.

It’s probably because the Proform unit was smaller.

About the Winning Services Staff

During assembly, the two gentlemen were very meticulous. They laid out a protective mat on the floor before getting to work.

They also made sure every part was attached and aligned correctly. Afterwards, they cleaned up and loaded all the packaging materials into the truck.

The assembled Proform Pro 2000 Treadmill is about 117 kg, with a box weight of 119 kg.

It is not as heavy as the NordicTrack Incline Trainer. But you’ll still need an extra hand if you wish to do the assembly yourself.

The instruction manual that comes with the product is detailed, and the actual assembly is pretty straightforward. There are a lot of steps to follow, though. So, it might take you about 1 to 2 hours to finish.

If you want to save time and energy, I recommend arranging for delivery and installation services. Having the pros help you should prevent accidents or errors, too.

Final Thoughts

Image is taken from ProForm Australia website

The Proform Pro 2000 Treadmill should be at the top of your list if you’re considering a mid-range model.

It’s an all-around cardio machine that has a lot to offer for its price. The Pro 2000 can easily outdo similar models, considering its basic features plus all the workout extras.

Also, the updated unit is more compact and user-friendly than its older version. Of course, a higher motor power, larger screen or better cushioning would have made it outstanding.

But for users who prefer light running with the latest tech, then the Proform Pro 2000 Treadmill is an excellent choice.
